Secretary General
The International Award Association
|
The Award now operates in over 110 countries, under many different titles. But whatever the name, the Award is the same ¡V offering young people an exciting programme of activities from community service to personal skill, from physical recreation to adventurous journeys. I hope that many young people in Hong Kong will join their friends around the world by developing their skills and having fun through this programme. |
| Colin Henderson |
Deputy Award Secretary for NI |
In 2001-2 an exchange programme was organised between the Duke of Edinburgh's Award in Northern Ireland and the Hong Kong Award for Young People. This was an exciting and challenging opportunity both for the students and the leaders involved. We, in NI, are most grateful for the commitment and enthusiasm given by all the staff in AYP who's contribution made this an unique learning opportunity for the students. The time spent at the Primary School in Luding was very special and the memories will last a life time.
We wish the AYP ever success in their future international programmes.

Gold Award in 1991 |
In 1991, I obtained my Gold Award and commenced my articled clerkship.
Thereafter, I found much similarity in the expedition training and my daily legal practice. They both require a high degree of determination to overcome problems and the spirit to complete the task as a team.
No doubt, every youngster will gain tremendous benefit and insight of oneself by participating in the Scheme. |

" The HK award for young people cultivates my spirit of adventure and perserverance. These qualities help me to face challenges and adversities. Come and join the award scheme today! " |

|
Very often we would hear, ¡§the young people nowadays are lacking the toughness, discipline, direction, sense of value, social awareness, etc. and etc.¡¨ We are glad to see that The Hong Kong Award for Young People (the ¡§HKAYP¡¨) (formerly The Duke of Edinburgh Award) has been continuously contributing in these aspects to build an all-round individual via their Gold, Silver and Bronze programmes.
We congratulate the HKAYP for its excellent achievements and we fully support its future endeavours to impact the society positively.
