Newspaper Supplement for SmarTone-Vodafone AYP International Exchange Programme Fund

Please note that the newspaper supplements for this Fund will be issued on 11 April 2008 (Friday) and 17 April 2008 (Thursday) on Ming Pao, Sing Tao Daily and SCMP - Young Post respectively.


84th Silver Award Presentation Ceremony

The Ceremony was scheduled to be held on 13 May 2008 (Tuesday) at 6 p.m. at Pui Ching Middle School. The Honourable Mr. Leung Chun Ying, GBS, JP of the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council was invited to be our Guest of Honour. Details of ceremony arrangement had been sent to all recipients.


Rename of Physical Recreation Activity

One of the Physical Recreation Section activities Mountaineering was misinterpreted by the participants as Mountain Craft. In order to avoid overlap with hiking activities in Expeditions section, Panel agreed to change the name of Mountaineering to Sport Climbing and Rock Climbing. Mountain Craft and any other Excursion activities would not be recognized as Physical Recreation Section activities.

The effectives date of this amendment will start on 1st of April 2008. Should you have any enquiries, Please feel free to contact Ms. Helene WONG at 2728 3245.

Thanks For Supporting HKAYP Flag Day

The Hong Kong Award for Young People Flag Day 2007 /2008 (N.T. Region) had been successfully held on 22 December 2007 with the ardent support from our AYP units and friendly organizations. We had more than 2,300 volunteers to help in flag-selling and collection depots on that day. The Flay Day was able to raise over HK$450,000 for the Award Scheme. We would like to offer our heartiest thanks to all participating organizations, volunteers and donors for making this event so fruitful!


CD Recycling Programme

Have you ever realized that the effects of global warming and the abnormal weather conditions in recent years?
Have you ever known that we will quickly fill up our landfills within the next 5-9 years?
Are you willing to make your efforts in protecting our environment?

In support of the CD Recycling Programme organized by Friends of the Earth (HK), a new CD Recycling Station had been set up in the lobby of Award Office. You are encouraged to dispose your used CDs in the recycling bin, which can be recycled and re-moulded into electronic
products and other components for household use.

Types of collection item: CD / CD-R / CD-RW / VCD / DVD / DVD ¡V R

Before you put CDs into the recycling bin, please:
1. Remove any packaging, and;
2. Crush CDs or scratch its surface to prevent data disclosure.
