Asia Pacific Youth Water Forum (Uploaded on 14-7-2008)

The 2nd Asia Pacific Youth Water Forum hosted by the NYAA Council in Singapore from 23 to 27 June 2008 was a success. More than 140 young people from 15 NYAA Operating Authorities including youth representatives from eight member countries in the Asia Pacific Region of The Award attended the event. Miss LUI Cheuk Ning (SOA) represented The Hong Kong Award for Young People to participate in the forum. The delegates were invited to a programme including exhibitions, site visits and the Closing Ceremony. Each delegate gave a country presentation at the Forum. Miss Lui Cheuk Ning will share with us what she saw and experienced in form of a written report later.


“A Mosaic of Peace” – Leaders’ Visit to The Israel Youth Award (Updated on 14-7-2008)

The “A Mosaic of Peace”–Leaders’Visit to The Israel Youth Award was organized by The Israel Youth Award on 2-9 September 2007. Mr. WONG Man Chu (Expeditions Section Panel Member), Mr. YIP Hing Faat (User Unit Leader of The Warehouse Teenage Club Limited) and Mr. Peter YEUNG (HKAYP Executive Officer) represented The Hong Kong Award for Young People to take part in this visit.

Together with more than 40 delegates from over 20 National Award Authorities, our delegates joined in the unveiling of “the Mosaic of Peace” at Israel. They also took the opportunity to meet Israel young people and Award Leaders to understand more about the development of Israel Youth Award. Trainings were also provided by international training staff on topics like The Six Pathways, Overseas Expeditions Guidelines and strengthening linkage among the Gold Award Holders Associations worldwide.

SmarTone-Vodafone AYP Hong Kong – Netherlands Exchange Programme 2008 (Updated on 9-5-2008)

It is always the intention of the Award Scheme to offer various exposures for our candidates to interact with their counterparts from around the world. Following this direction and with the great support from SmarTone-Vodafone, an outbound exchange project with The Netherlands is planned to be held from 2nd to 14th August 2008 in The Netherlands. The exchange project aimed to broaden the horizons of the participants and to learn and exchange ideas on environment protection.

Asia Pacific Regional Training Workshop 2007

The Asia Pacific Regional Training Workshop 2007 was held during 12-16 November 2007 at Auckland, New Zealand. The five-days workshop was designed for experienced Award trainers to share their experiences on training candidates/leaders. Mr.Johnny CHAN (Expeditions Section Panel Convener), Miss Eva CHAN (Residential Project Section Panel Vice-convener) and Miss Amy POON (HKAYP Senior Operations and Training Officer) represented The Hong Kong Award Scheme to take part in this workshop.

20 Award Leaders from 8 National Award Authorities joined in the workshop. New training methodology and training tips were introduced. International training staff also took the opportunity to provide information on development of the International Award Association like The Six Pathways and the setting up of National Training Panel. A National Trainers Toolkit was also produced for use of Award Leaders.
